The Yes Inn is an excellent hostel. I had problems finding my way to the Hostel on my own - the directions were not that clear for me to interpret. But the hostel is in a good location and I could easily travel to the city centre.
The Yes Inn is clean and the extras included (toothbrush,razor) what one would find in more expensive hotels. The staff assisted me with train travel arrangements to Kaifeng though I didn't get what I wanted- the fast train as I could not explain myself clearly in Chinese. It helps to know quite a bit of Mandarin.

This hotel is economical, less than 300RMB per night for a double room with breakfast. It is a Chinese breakfast, but it is OK. The staff are friendly and most speak good English. It is reasonably close to the subway. 15 minute walk. The rooms are very clean and very good having just been renovated. Remember when you book in you do have to pay a deposit which is returned when you leave. You can get a local bus to the airport 2 RMB. (not Pudong, the other one)

We cannot grumble at the quality of the accommodation, service or any other aspect of this hotel. Situated near all transport and next door to a minimart and only step away from restaurants.

We can only highly recommend the Yes Inn, Shanghai to anyone who wants value for money and a good clean place to stay.

- The rooms are clean and furnished, equipped well.

- The breakfast is typically chinese and absolutely tasty and delicious.

- The receptionists are very friendly, know the city and give advices readily (We asked for various bus routes to certain attractions).

- Internet cable connection in the room worked very well!!! .)

All in all - we will come back. Hopefully soon.

+ location is ok, but not really good;
+ staff speakes good english;
- very bad breakfast (not because it was chinese);
- the hotel was undergoing renovations - which made it very noisy;
- the elevator didn't work on one day;

a good, medium-quality hotel
location about 15min to the next tube
next door to a C's, a cool club
Rooms are spacious, well designed and have everything you need.
Cleanliness so-so (had to kill a cockroach in the bathroom), but that's a problem everywhere in Shanghai, and let's face it, in NY too!
